OFO's Energy Services department offers free or low-cost home energy conservation upgrades to make homes more energy efficient, affordable, comfortable and safe.

Weatherization measures we may provide include: 

  • Whole house energy assessments
  • Blower Door Testing for new construction and rehabilitation projects
  • Installation of Energy Star appliances and windows
  • Cellulose insulation blowing
  • Air sealing, weather-stripping and/or caulking around doors and windows
  • Replacement/repair of storm windows, broken windows and/or outside doors
  • Installation of smoke detectors and check for gas leaks and carbon monoxide
  • Education on energy conservation
  • Information on available financing for energy-related improvements

Weatherization services are provided without cost to income-eligible homeowners and tenants in Otsego and Chenango Counties. However, owners of rental buildings renting to low-income tenants can access this service with a minimal contribution towards the cost of the Weatherization services.
