OFO's core New York State contract supporting the Violence Intervention Program was reduced by over $225,000 annually; nearly half of the previous award. This reduction creates a significant gap in resources for our friends and neighbors who may have nowhere else to turn during times of crisis and heightened danger. OFO remains committed to being there when people need us most and are doing everything within our organizational capacity to sustain quality, responsive services for victims in our community.
The New York State Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program has released new income guidelines effective July 1, 2026. Previously, pregnant individuals enrolled in New York State's Essential Plan 200-250 were automatically eligible for WIC. With the discontinuation of the Essential Plan 200-250, automatic WIC eligibility under that coverage has ended. Pregnant individuals enrolled in Essential Plan Levels 1-4 remain automatically eligible for WIC.
