2.3.10The Violence Intervention Program (VIP) has scheduled its next session of the Rape Crisis Counselor Certification training. The 30-hour course teaches community members about the dynamics of sexual assault and domestic violence and how to appropriately support and respond to victims. At the end of the class, volunteers can assist in answering the 24-hour hotline, help with community outreach and awareness events, provide support at the shelter/office, and much more.
Trainings will be held March 4th and 18th (6:00-9:00PM) and March 6th, 7th, 20th, and 21st (10:00AM - 5:00PM). Trainees must attend all classes and complete and additional 10 hours of volunteer time to receive their New York State Rape Crisis Counselor Certification.
