Head Start

Head Start is a comprehensive preschool program that helps children from low-income families develop the early reading and math skills they need to be successful in school. The program promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children ages 3 through 5.

Services offered by Head Start:

  • Center-based early childhood educational services
  • Coordination of health, dental, and developmental services
  • Nutrition programs
  • Music and art experiences
  • Opportunities for parent involvement

  • Administrative Office: 3 West Broadway, Oneonta
  • Head Start Centers: Cooperstown, Laurens, Milford, Morris, Oneonta, Richfield Springs, Schenevus, Unadilla, and Worcester.

Hours of Operation:
  • Administrative Office: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Head Start Centers: Follows the school calendar. Hours vary by location.
