04.21.2024-04.27.2024 - National Crime Victims’ Rights Week: Since 1981, National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) has challenged the Nation to confront and remove barriers to achieving justice for all victims of crime. This year’s theme is a call-to-action for us all to create safe environments for crime victims to share what happened to them. By doing so, we’re able to offer support, options for life-saving services, and, most importantly, hope. The Violence Intervention Program offers support to local victims of crime. Reach out 24/7 for support.

05.04.2024 - Community Baby Shower: Join Building Healthy Families for their 10th Annual Community Baby Shower, scheduled from 10AM-2PM at Southside Mall. Now accepting table reservations from community organizations.

05.18.2024 - Head Start Spring Carnival: Head Start will be hosting a community get-together at the Sixth Ward Booster Club Field on Scramling Ave, Oneonta.  Activities, games, and snacks from 10AM-1PM.

Still Enrolling! Head Start enrolls year-round for center-based and home-based programs. Children must be three years old to start in Head Start classrooms.  Support is also offered to prenatal mothers and children up to three years old through Early Head Start. The Office of Head Start concluded that Opportunities for Otsego Head Start preschool classrooms meet national quality standards.
The Board of Directors at Opportunities for Otsego is pleased to announce the promotion of Tanya Shalor, Chief Financial Officer, to Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2024.
The Board of Directors at Opportunities for Otsego approved a motion to accept the 2023 Otsego County Community Needs Assessment at its September meeting. This is the fourth comprehensive report developed by the agency since 2011.
