May 21, 1992: OFO official opened the newly constructed administration building at 3 West Broadway

Capital Campaign

In part to growth and a desire to centralize programming, Opportunities for Otsego started construction in 1989 on a new administrative building, located at 3 West Broadway in Oneonta. On May 21, 1992, the Board of Directors hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony, officially opening the offices and allowing for an integrated service model approach to better support low-income families in Otsego County.

The 3 West Broadway building serves the agency and community well; however, is showing signs of age including water leaks and compromised roofing materials. Roof replacement is critical to maintaining the life of the building and safeguarding agency equipment necessary to deliver client services. Typically, building maintenance is funded through the Building Operations budget, whose revenue is a portion of program budgets and grant awards. However, with programs receiving years of flat-funding despite ever-increasing costs, the Building Operations budget cannot support this capital project. To address the need, The Board of Directors has initiated a Capital Campaign to raise $100,000 to complete a roof replacement.
